When we first heard Lanie Gardner’s voice, we were instantly smitten. The now-26-year-old singer-songwriter released a self-produced cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” five years ago, and in doing so, shot to country music fame. But at Buckle, we were noticing her style as much as her pipes, especially our very own jeans and belts when she stepped on stage.
Now on the verge of becoming Nashville’s biggest sensation, Lanie is embarking on her most ambitious season yet. Speaking of cowgirls, Lanie cites several when asked about her top fashion influences: “I really like what Carrie Underwood wears. Obviously Miranda Lambert, she has a cool, edgy style, and she definitely wore jeans a lot during the earlier part of her career. I like Kacey Musgraves’s style right now, too. It’s cool and free-spirited.” That vibe carries over into Gardner’s wardrobe: The girl loves jeans; she says they make her feel her most confident and most comfortable, especially while performing. “I feel like I can be freer and more myself when I’m comfortable in the clothes I’m wearing,” she explains. “I always reach for Buckle. As a taller girl, they’re pretty much the only jeans that have fit me throughout the years!”
