We’re always looking for new ways to connect to our guests.
Whether they’ve stuck with us over the last fifty years, or they just walked into one of our stores to take a peek, we want to know what they want when it comes to style and their shopping experience.
Next up on our Live Undefined series, Meet Hope, a 23-year-old account representative who’s new to Buckle and is 110% confident her spirit animal is a red panda.
Meet Hope
Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m originally from South Korea and was adopted when I was really young. I did much of my growing up in Kansas where I went to school, all the way through college (University of Kansas). I decided to move to Chicago post-grad because I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, no regrets so far.
Some other fun facts:
- I’m both a dog and cat person; I don’t discriminate.
- Most of the Instagram accounts I follow are foodie accounts, I’m an avid lover of french fries.
- I have a horrible fear of anything that is scary, I have to mute the TV when a scary movie trailer comes out.
- And if I could have any super power, it would be teleporting – skip the driving and flights!
Describe your style in three words.
Chill, comfortable, and “s’cute” (pronounced like: so cute)
Finish this sentence. My favorite outfit can…
Make you want to go out and buy it for yourself.
What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion to me means: inspiration, creativity, uniqueness and confidence. I’m constantly inspired everyday by fashion; whether that’s what Rihanna is currently wearing or what’s in the store window down the street. One of my favorite things about fashion is the uniqueness someone brings to an article of clothing. Someone could be wearing the same dress as you, but how you wear it, accessorize it, dress it up or down is totally unique to you.
Most importantly, fashion means confidence! We all have those favorite pair of jeans, when you put them on you automatically feel good. Wearing something that brings me confidence adds an extra pep in my step and a smile to match it!
It’s a Monday night in Chicago. What are you doing?
We all hate Mondays, so I’m either watching The Office, Cubs baseball or online shopping. Most likely the latter.
What has 2017 brought you so far? What have you accomplished? What is left to discover?
2017 is off to a great start so far! I’ve been excelling at my job. The weather in Chicago is b-e-a-utiful. And not to mention there’s some great summer-time happy hours!
What’s left to accomplish? Everything! I turn 24 this year and I want to find my true passion in life. So I’m ready for anything and everything to come my way!
Chicago hot spots. Name your favorites.
Schoolyard, Murphy’s Bleachers, Old Crow, Roscoe’s for the bar-scene. Michigan Ave or Southport for shopping areas. And for food and drinks? You can’t go wrong anywhere in Chicago – but the classics are Pequad’s, Giordano for deep dish pizza!
