Know what’s worse than going through the entire day without coffee? Old, boring jeans. But that’s where we ask you to put on some sweet tunes, pull up those Pinterest pages, and channel your inner creativity. Your jeans are about to get a MAKEOVER.
What You’ll Need:
- Needle and Thread (We used a cream color.)
- Seam Ripper
- Fabric Chalk
Add interest to an old pair of jeans by putting intricate stitches on the pockets, belt loops, and zipper. You can do a wide variety of stitches here, but we stuck with a classic whip-stitch technique.
Tie a knot in your thread and start from the back of the jean. Loop the thread around the edge of the jean and back through again. Tie in the back.
Adding fabric gives your well-loved jeans another element of interest. We added plaid to ours, just in time for fall.
Here’s how: Try your jeans on and using your ruler, scissors, and fabric chalk, find the perfect size of patch to add. When sewing, you can use an applique stitch so the added fabric looks more casual.
Once you have updated your jeans, it’s time to find your style. We like letting the jeans do all the talking by keeping it simple. Now go get some coffee, and enjoy the day.
