As our #buckleathome series continue and we are adjusting to a little (a lot) more time on our hands, we are seeking some inspiration from our closets.
To help keep us inspired and socially connected, we turned to some of our teammates, and asked to share their current favorites – and what they’ve been up to!
Hello! I’m Clair from Lincoln, NE – manager at our SouthPointe location! Although this quarantine takes me totally out of my normal routine, I am so thankful to be happy and healthy. This extra time at home has allowed me to be with my favorite fur balls and (re)connect with friends, family, and coworkers via FaceTime! Thank goodness for social media! 🙌
My favorite piece in my outfit are my DIFF glasses! They protect my eyes from the added screen time I have been getting from my phone or laptop since being at home. Also, you can look forward to summer with this brand because they make sunnies as well! ☀️
Hi ya’ll! I’m Emily Bauer and I am a store manager at Fairview Town Center, so I just because a Texas gal!
One of my favorite pieces are these Miss Me camo paperbag pants! I have a new obsession for pants like these because of the versatility. Easy to dress up with a cute bootie and a hat, or dress down with a sneaker. The comfort is unreal!
To stay happy and healthy, I actually was able to get home to Kansas to spend time with my family! My time off has also been spent cuddled up reading a good book (I’m currently reading It’s not Supposed to be this Way, by Lysa Terkurst), listening to podcasts, cruising on backroads, snuggling my niece, and baking my mom’s favorite homemade cookies!
My name is Amanda! I’m from Brandon, South Dakota and I now live and work as an assistant manager at our Rapid location.
My favorite piece in this outfit is the fringe suede jacket by Flying Tomato. It’s a great way to make a statement while still being comfortable.
On my days off, I hike through the gorgeous Black Hills with my white German Shepherd, named Indigo.
My name is Chad and I am from Chico, California. My favorite Buckle piece in my outfit is definitely my jeans from Outpost Makers. I love how stretchy they are and that the bottom opening is perfect for any cool shoe.
One of the ways I’ve been occupying my time is by reading Leadershift by John C. Maxwell. It was given to us during manager meetings, so I’m really using this time to dissect it to go back to my team and be a better leader for them.
Something I’ve also loved is being able to take a couple extra walks with my dog, Holly. She is a Maltese Poodle, almost 9 years old, and loves the spring weather – so she begs to go outside!
We are Charlie and Amber Douglass! We have been with Buckle for over 12 years and are both area managers working with multiple properties, while also managing our Fargo, ND location!
We purchased our home about three years ago, so most of our down time goes toward small home renovations, one room at a time. Last year, we installed a sliding back patio door, and the deck goes up this spring!! Because we can’t run around, we stocked up on paint for all of the painting projects in our home. So far, we’ve refinished the cabinets, repainted the banister, and plan on painting our living and recreation area in the basement! Accomplishing so much where we live feels SO GOOD! We knew we wanted to get a bunch done before our baby girl arrives in July.
Other things we’re doing: I love cooking, and Charlie doesn’t mind the clean up – so we are trying out new recipes. To keep active, we run outside (yes, even in ND!), do yoga, and lift. We also spend time with our little dog, Aubrey. She’s the best companion to have for normal everyday life, but she’s also exceptional at doing this quarantine thing!
My favorite part of my outfit are my shoes, Keds flatform leather sneaker. They are so comfy and I love the white for spring! Charlie’s favorite? His Salvage jeans – he wears them to work and at home because of the comfort. Project cabinets, here we go!
I’m Lynn Killion, on our women’s merchandising team! My favorite piece right now is this Willow & Root top, absolutely love the color. Citron is one of my all-time favorites. Brights keep my happy, especially while being cooped up.
Levi’s denim has always been my go-to, and the loose fit of these straights are my jam. They are longer, which I love. The denim is “lived in” and I guess that’s where we are at with the current stay-at-home fashion.
At home; staying alive with coffee and reading old Restoration Hardware magazines! And, I mean coffee consumption has maybe doubled… or tripled.
The boys are crazy. Knox: he’s the boss (and the cutest). I’m hoping to get fired from home schooling soon. My “home office” is also a shared space with legos. The competitions have been intense.
So – whether crossing off that project list, competing with legos for space, or picking up a new read for the first time in a long time – we definitely know the power a little inspiration can bring to the day.
