3 Ways to Keep Shining All Year Round

Meet Kaylinda – one of our store designers. She spends most of her days making Buckle stores fit into designated lease spaces. But her real talent is in the way she sparkles. In fact, she’s been crowned the “Sparkle Queen” around the office. Her department even challenged her to wear something sparkly every day for the entire month of December. (And she succeeded!)

Since New Year’s has passed, many of us are stashing away our sequins for the next special occasion. But at Buckle, the life of sequins extends far beyond the ball drop. Take some advice from the “Sparkle Queen” herself to continue shining year-round.

1. Kimonos

Everyone thought kimonos were only around for the spring and summer, but here they are in winter, still making way as a must-have style piece. Kick your kimono game up a notch by pairing it with a little sparkle.

When it comes to sequins, the key is balance. Neutral colors enhance the shine.

Add your favorite pair of comfy boots, and you’re set!

2. Crop Tops and Boyfriend Jeans

When you have a sparkly piece that really makes a statement, let it speak for itself. The rest of your outfit should complement the sequins without clashing for the perfect casual-glam look. Crop tops and boyfriend jeans can’t be beat.

I even sport sparkles on my watch. Any accessory looks good in bling.

3. Maxi Skirt and Chunky Sweater

This combo is a little unexpected. Maxi skirts have a reputation for “summer only.” But they work great year-round. Pair an over-sized sweater on top to complete your sparkly, boho look. You won’t see this fashion move everywhere, but it’s definitely worth a try.

I love the contrast of this look. Cute, comfortable, and cozy. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Next time you’re standing in front of your closet on a dull Monday morning, brighten your own day by choosing to go for it with sequins. And for a little extra motivation, I’ll leave you with my favorite quote, “Don’t ever let anyone dull your sparkle!”
