Meet McKenna
Tell us about yourself…
My name is McKenna Kaup. I’m currently a student at the University of Nebraska and plan to graduate with a degree in Organizational Communication.
I love to be outdoors, staying active, and am always up for a roadtrip. Biking tops my list of favorite things to do. On rainy days, I enjoy a nice Netflix show, hot tea, and chocolate desserts.
In the next few years, I hope to move out of Nebraska and into the Arizona area. Itching for that warm weather!
You’re the face for Gimmicks clothing. In what ways are you the ultimate Gimmicks girl?
When I think of the Gimmicks girl, I picture someone carefree with no worries in the world. She really embraces the ideology of taking life one breath at a time while truly appreciating each moment as it comes.
I love encompassing this woman. I’ve recently started attending yoga classes, which I’ve found helps me further channel my inner Gimmicks girl.
How does Gimmicks fit your personal style?
Gimmicks is fun, lacey, and a little beyond “ordinary”. I joke about how plain my personal wardrobe is, I wear a lot of grey, black, and workout clothes because comfort is my first thought in the mornings. However, my latest purchase was the Gimmicks white, lace long-sleeve shirt. I suppose you could say Gimmicks is inspiring me.
Favorite piece in your closet?
Currently, my favorite article of clothing is my dad’s old college sweatshirt. I love it because it’s vintage, over-sized, and super warm. It goes great with some grey leggings and fuzzy socks.
Judge all you want, but nothing beats a little piece of home.
How do you channel confidence for photoshoots? For life?
It takes a lot of practice, but I just have to remind myself that I was chosen for this job. It’s also very reassuring to work with a team so supportive and encouraging. In life, society can really break women down so I think it’s important to disregard what other people say and remember that beauty is not objective. It does not define a person.
Hobbies?
I have an uncanny ability to eat an entire chocolate cake in a few sittings. So, lack of self-control? (HA) Besides that, I can juggle…and binge watch all 12 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy.

You go to a coffee shop. What do you order?
Well, I’m not a fan of the taste of coffee, so I would probably get hot tea or a fruit smoothie.
