Recipe for Style? Cue Moms.

This may end up being a thank you letter, or a love letter, or an all-of-the-above letter…but can we just say how lucky we are to have our moms in our lives?

They taught us how to be respectful, sat with us as we learned long division, and (bless them) made sure we walked out of the house fully clothed for 18 years of our lives. And I don’t know about you, but my mom had a major impact on my style. She made the rules where we shopped and there was always the dreaded dressing room try-on’s with her patiently waiting for me to show off what we picked out. In that moment I may have been rolling our eyes, but now it brings a smile to my face.

We’re all so used to a life where we are in a hurry 24/7, and during this unique time during quarantine I’ve decided to take the time to enjoy little moments with my family, especially my mom. Living out in the country, we’ve been able to escape the masks in the city, and focus on small things like gardening or cooking a recipe that we watched on Food Network that morning. Right now, we have the time to connect and that’s allowing us to create memories that we’ll never forget.

So what’s our recipe for style? Any and all inspiration from our moms. Whether that’s rocking the quintessential mom jean, or throwing it back to to their prime *cough, the 80’s, cough* with a power sleeve. They’ve taught us a lot more than style though, and we appreciate them for that.

Needless to say, we’ve become our best selves because moms are the epitome of ‘the best’. What are some of your favorite memories, either as a mom, or with your mom? Have you picked up on any of your mom’s styling habits that you never thought you’d rock? Share them with us below in the comments, or tag a picture on Insta with #BuckleStyle and #BuckleatHome.
